Treatment has begun

Today, August 1st, I received my first treatment. It was a special moment as I can now begin my recovery. I am not sure how long it will take, but at least it has finally begun.
The weekend saw more visitors, but many of them had to meet with we whilst I lay on my bed as my energy levels had been decreasing over the last little while.
My kids enjoyed a great weekend. Xanthe got to see more of her relatives and one of her Aunties took her iceskating which she really enjoyed. Zeke has been working hard as a stagehand preparing for the combined Auckland Grammar/Epsom Girls Grammar school production. That all comes to a head this week with evening performances later in the week.

I want to thank you all for the thoughts/txts/emails/prayers etc that have helped get me to this point.

All the best with your new medicines, Andrew, that they get to work shrinking your mets and letting you feel much better quickly. We're keeping you in our thoughts and prayers, Penny and Charlotte xxx (Kathleen's at camp this week)

The prayers go on Andrew for your full recovery. I see it all the time in my minds eye. I can't see it any other way. Patti is very strong and I hope soon a time comes when we can all go and do something nice together. This old Aunty is laughing because she isn't as young as she'd like to be. There are some funny ice-skating bruises because she thinks she is still young and can tear around an ice-rink with poor control, however it's all good and I am keen to take Xanthe on the ice again soon. Your nephew Arini is trying to get his 1975 bomb on the road again soon and when he does he will come and visit. I noticed he has put a very old photo of you, Zeke and Malcolm on display in his room (it's a mouse pad photo). He is thinking of you, I can tell.
Rest well tonight, everything that can be done has been done and you are now on a pathway to getting better now. Work hard at getting better. Kia kaha, kia mananui

Thinking of you all the time and seeing the rest of the whanau put a comment up I thought I would join in. Zoe is getting her friends to pray for you too at school.
Love Heather
